About

Midwinter Hollow jewellery is made by me, Michelle, at my home workshop in the beautiful Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire. I have always enjoyed making things, fiddling around with things and customising objects. After getting a shiny new Medusa piercing and waiting for it to heal I set about looking for more interesting jewellery choices. This started me on my jewellery making journey.

For years I have always wanted to try my hand at making jewellery, particularly silversmithing but back then the courses were not something I could afford. More recently I found a wonderful course with a wonderful lady which taught me the basics and enabled me to follow the path of my dreams.

I had been making jewellery for fun for a good few months when my beautiful gran died it was a few days after this I decided to open an Etsy store, I think as a way of coping. It was something positive to focus on during a dark time. I didn't expect many sales but they gradually started increasing and it was a welcome distraction.

My little business grew and grew and I was able to quit my job and go full time into making jewellery! It has been an interesting journey from the start and I would never have believed I would end up with what was my vague dream job of "making things with my hands" or that it would bring me so much pleasure.

So thank you to all my lovely customers for making my dream come true.
